Hailing from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, Govind Jaiswal’s journey to success was a collaborative effort with his father, Narayan. Narayan, a hardworking man, shared his son’s aspirations and worked tirelessly to fulfill Govind’s dreams. In 1995, Narayan owned 35 rickshaws. Unfortunately, a tragic turn of events occurred when his wife fell ill, compelling him to sell 20 of his rickshaws. Despite his best efforts, Narayan’s wife succumbed to her illness that same year.

Meanwhile, in 2004-2005, Govind conceived the idea of traveling to Delhi to prepare for the UPSC exam. However, financial constraints posed a significant hurdle. Determined to support his son’s aspirations, Narayan made the difficult decision to sell the remaining 14 rickshaws, leaving him with just one. With unwavering determination, he began driving the sole rickshaw himself to sustain the family.

For the sake of Govind’s education, his father transitioned from being a rickshaw owner to a rickshaw puller, despite suffering from a leg ailment. Remarkably, Govind’s studies remained unaffected by these challenges, as he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his academic pursuits.

Govind’s arduous efforts paid off when he achieved an impressive 48th rank in his first attempt at the UPSC exam in 2006. His remarkable journey stands as a testament to the indomitable human spirit and serves as an inspiration for students across the nation.
