Umang said she was only 21 or 22 when she started her business with 30,000 rupees, but now earns hundreds of thousands of rupees. An introduction to the life of Umang Sridhar.

 

Birth and childhood of Umang Sridhar

Umang Shridhar was born on September 19, 1993, in Kishanganj Village, Damoh District, Madhya Pradesh (India). Umang spent her youth in Kishanganj village. From an early age, she watched her mother help others and work. She is currently working on hiring other talents as well. 

Umang Shridhar’s Education

Umang Sridhar started her studies in Kishanganj village. She then completed her studies at Damo. Umang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Delhi University. She wanted to do something big, so she decided to go into business, and after she quit B.Com her Umang, she went to NIFT to do her designs for fashion. She quit for two years.

Umang Sridhar’s family lives in Bhopal. Umanga Sridhar’s mother was Vandana Sridhar who is a chairman. Umang has also Shridhar’s older brother, whose name is Hashvardhan Shridhar. Umang also has sisters Shweta Sridhar and Suhani Sridhar. Umang Sridhar says she was inspired by her mother. Mom always helps people. Seeing her mother made them feel that she has to do something to help others. Umang Sridhar mostly shares photos with her family on her Instagram account. 

Career of Umang Sridhar

After graduating from Uman High School, Sridhar decided to do something for the local women, weavers and artisans in and around her village. She wanted to give people jobs. Founding of khadi

In 2014, Umang Sridhar founded her own company, KhaDigi. KhaDigi is a clothing company. Umang started the business with just 30,000 rupees and gave jobs to the women and weavers around her. Their “KhaDigi” is now a brand.  Shridar now earns hundreds of millions of dollars and helps many housewives find jobs. Khadigi’s customers also include large groups such as Reliance Industries and Birla Group. Umang Sridhar employs weavers from Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Maharashtra to produce Khadi fabric and handlooms. Her company supplies Khadi clothing to wholesalers, retailers, designers and various industries. And now she wants to distribute organic cotton and eco-friendly fabrics made from bamboo and soybean waste in London and Europe. Khadi fabric. 

Employment of women

Umang Sridhar hopes to get ahead by employing women in her small town through her own business. She also gave jobs to 60 to 70 women. And her organisation did just that. About 2,000 masks were distributed free of charge. Thanks to the jobs they provided, the women are now able to manage their own households as well.

The brand’s founder, Kadi Umang Sridhar, was named to the prestigious business magazine Forbes’ 2019 list of successful under 30s. His name is also included in the list of the top 50 social entrepreneurs in the country.
