Have a glance at Reva and Ranjan who own an eco-friendly house and EV, and are living a sustainable life.
In this modern era, living a sustainable and eco-friendly life has become more critical than ever. As cities grow and expand, it becomes crucial to incorporate sustainable practices to ensure a livable and resilient urban environment. Bengaluru, one of the busiest cities in India is experiencing rapid urbanization with changes in its climate and lifestyle of people.
But a couple in Bengaluru are living their best organic life which is directly connected to nature and sustainability. Away from all the chores and pollution of the city, the dream house of Reva and Ranjan Malik is an ideal MVH (Minimal Viable Home). So let’s become Malik’s guests and visit their home.
Before relocating themselves to Bengaluru, Reva and Ranjan lived in Delhi and were always fond of visiting places around. At a certain point, they felt to lead a simple life by building a mud house and eco-friendly materials. So they bought a piece of land on the outskirts of Bengaluru and built a house. Spread over an area of 770 sq. ft., the house has one bedroom, one kitchen and a living room. They named their home AMLA.
They use a stove and a solar-powered cooker to cook food instead of gas cylinders. There are no taps in the house. Reva and Ranjan practise rainwater harvesting and use small handpumps to collect water.
There are no electrical equipments like a fan, refrigerator, air conditioner, television etc. There is a big pot dug into the soil, which acts as a refrigerator and keeps the food cool and fresh. They live a very minimalistic life. Besides this, there is no furniture in the home.
Not just an eco indoor life, they practise organic farming. They too have open areas, one in front and one in the back of the house.
This is too breathtaking. Reva and Ranjan are living such a minimalistic life with zero waste sustainability.
