His 9000 missed shots, 300 lost games, 26 times given a chance to game-winning shot but missed it?
Let me tell you, Michael Jordan, in full Micheal jeffery jordan also called MJ, a worldwide known basketball player, the story wasn’t a piece of cake.
Micheal Jordan was born in new york, on February 17th,1963. He was born and brought up in a so-called large family, with four siblings. His family later moved, to grow up in a safer environment in Wilmington, north carolina.
He used to love sports from when he was little. His first love for sports began with baseball, which he used to play with his father, who also loves baseball.
Later, because of his brother Larry, he started playing basketball. His brother was good at basketball and he competed with him and learnt basketball to win with his brother and also to get praised by his father.
He thought he was pretty good at basketball when he was a sophomore at Laney high school in Wilmington, he wanted to join the basketball team in his school and at that time, he was at a height
of 5’11. Because of his height, his coaches thought he wouldn’t fit in for basketball and he was cut off from the team.
He was cut off from the team. he was disappointed. As his coaches rejected him, without knowing his want to join the basketball varsity team in his sophomore year. The thought of his friends making it to the team and he didn’t, completely made him low. He came home locked himself in the closet and cried. But Jordan didn’t negatively take this. He took it in a sportive way and made up his mind to be in the basketball team no matter what.
He made sure to dedicate himself to basketball and astonishingly played basketball. He was consistent in playing and sharpened all his skills. He made sure he would play best on the court and shined among all. He was soon recognised as the best player among all players even tho he used to play with other 14 and 15-year-old players.
In the summertime, he made worth of his time and worked regularly towards his goal that he was amazing at all his skills and also had put up a few inches in his height. As soon as he came back to college, he was ready to join the team. In no time he was the best player in his team scoring 20+ points on average in every game and helped his team one of the best teams in the state, even if they didn’t win the state championship. Jordan’s outstanding achievement in his final two years of high school opened the door for his collegiate career. In reality, he committed to UNC far before completing his senior year of high school, signing a letter of intent in November 1980.
Jordan’s on-court winning didn’t stop after college. His aggressiveness and tenacity in college carried over perfectly into his professional performance.
Regardless of where he played in the pros, Jordan would go on to score 32,292 points in his professional basketball career, while winning 6 NBA championships, 6 NBA Finals MVP awards, 5 NBA MVP titles, 2 NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards, and 2 Olympic Gold Medals, to name a few accomplishments.
That being said, Jordan became a force to be reckoned with in the NBA; not only was he one of the most exciting players to watch for over 15 seasons, but his competitiveness and drive to win helped him become widely regarded as the best basketball player of all time.
All these paragraphs say about his success, but Jordan himself has told so many things, about his failure.
He explained how he kept failing over and over again. “I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed. I don’t always have to hit the last shot but I do have to walk away knowing I did everything I could to win the game.”
He always told me, every game you fail is the very lesson you learn of what you should not do in the next game,
“I’m a firm believer that if you have a good game, your game is going to say that. You don’t have to say it. Let your game be your promotion, your mark, fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts.” your game be your promotion, your mark, fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts.”
For Jordans, it’s his game, for you, it can be anything, it can be your passion, your art, your study, anything. So it becomes very important to learn and never give up.
Micheal Jordan is no doubt a successful person and a basketball player whose net worth is $88,000,0000.
How many zeros it is right?
If you want it, pursue it.
And Jordan always tells,
“The Key to Success is Failure”.
