Ranjit Singh Raj, hailing from an underprivileged family in Jaipur, faced adversity from a young age due to poverty and his dark complexion. Despite societal insults, he found solace in driving an auto-rickshaw in the vibrant streets of Jaipur from the age of 16. Uninterested in academics and with no clear ambitions, Ranjit’s journey took an unexpected turn when he discovered the hidden entrepreneur within himself.
The Spark of Ambition Ignites
While ferrying tourists across the Pink City, Ranjit observed fellow auto drivers conversing in various foreign languages to attract tourists. Intrigued, he decided to learn English in 2008, diverging from the prevalent trend of IT aspirations in India. His passion for entrepreneurship blossomed, leading him to establish his own tourism business, catering to foreign tourists by driving them around Rajasthan in his auto-rickshaw.

A Love Story Beyond Borders
Fate took an interesting turn when, during a tour at the City Palace, Ranjit met his future wife, a French tourist. The connection deepened, and despite the distance, they maintained their relationship through Skype. Facing multiple visa rejections, the couple fought for their love. On his lover’s visit to India, they staged a protest in front of the French embassy, demanding to meet the French Ambassador. Their determination paid off as Ranjit received a three-month tourist visa to visit France.
Overcoming Challenges in the City of Love
In 2014, the couple defied borders, getting married and later welcoming a child. Ranjit, seeking a long-term visa, overcame language barriers by learning French at The Alliance France in New Delhi. Landing in France as a resident, he faced a cultural shock regarding the cuisine. Undeterred, he embraced the challenge, improving his culinary skills over time. To share his newfound expertise, he launched a Youtube channel, expanding his influence beyond borders.

Born into poverty and facing discrimination, Ranjit Singh Raj, equipped with proficiency in English and French, scripted his destiny as an auto-driver. His inspiring journey serves as a testament to resilience, determination, and the power of following one’s heart.
