Sanjukta was born and brought up in Assam. She moved to Delhi to complete her graduation in Political science and post-graduate studies in International Relations. Later she pursued PhD degree in US foreign policy.
Sanjukta Parashar: The IPS officer
Sanjukta bagged 85th rank in the prestigious civil services exam of India in 2006. She decided to serve the Meghalaya-Assam cadre to maintain the law and order. Life always gave her moments of being lionhearted and fearless, then. During her initial days, she was posted as an Assistant Commandant in Makum, Assam. She was popularly recognized as being a fearless encounter specialist. Later, she was posted to control the violence between Bodos and Bangladeshis in Udalgiri.
Terrorists’ worst fear
After her promotion as the Superintendent of Police in Sonitpur district, she lead a team of CRPF constables to encounter the Bodo militants. With days and months, her operations and encounters climbed the stairs of victory and success. She shot dead 16 militants in 15 months, arrested 64, and seized a large amount of ammunition.
Even with her tireless efforts to catch criminals, Sanjukta Parashar manages to dedicate time to help others through philanthropic work. She actively supports people in relief camps, showing kindness and a deep care for humanity.
