Early Life and Childhood
She was born on 20th July 1988 in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Her father died when she was three years old and she never felt her father’s love. She has a passion for sports from an early age and this passion has made her a national level volleyball player. Change has arrived.
The Dramatic Change in her Life (Train Accident)
In April 2011, while travelling on the Padmavati Express from Lucknow to Delhi, she had a grotesque encounter with a group of thieves. When she protested to protect her chains and other valuables, a brawl broke out and she was pushed from her moving train. She fell on the next train and the other crushed her leg.
She kept lying on the highway all night, many trains rolling over her legs. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done to save her. It was only in the morning that villagers noticed her and took her to the nearest hospital. There, her leg was amputated below her knee. India’s Ministry of Sports also offered her compensation of Rs 25,000 and she received the best possible treatment. I couldn’t move. I remember the train approaching. I tried to get up. By then the train was rolling over my feet. I don’t remember what happened next. ”
After public outrage, she received an extra rupee. In addition, she also received a CISF job recommendation and she was offered her job at Indian Railways, where she enrolled in the All India Medical College, where she spent four months. A private company in Delhi also provided him with a prosthetic leg free of charge.
Career
Negative reports of her accident further strengthened her determination to do something big.In addition to becoming a volleyball player, she decided to become a climber. People and doctors were baffled when they heard of her plan, and many began to think she was going through some kind of trauma. It was her unwavering determination. She was heavily influenced by Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh at the time. After being released, she immediately went to Banchendri Pal instead of going home. Bachendri Pal was the first woman to climb Everest and she inspired Arunima to selflessly pursue her dreams. After that, she started working under one of the milestones in her life, Bachendri Pal. She reached the highest peak of Everest on May 21, 2013 at 10:55 am. She has already climbed the highest peaks on six continents: Everest in Asia, Aconcagua in Argentina, Kosciuszko in Australia, Carstens in Indonesia, Kilimanjaro in Africa and Elbrus in Europe. I want to climb the seven highest peaks of the seven continents.
Awards and Honor
In 2015, she was awarded the fourth-highest civilian honour by Padma Shri.
Her Book
Her book Born Again in the Mountains was published by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 2014.
